Our Customer:
 
The customer is one of the leading Computer peripherals distributor handling around 1000’s of customers and 100’s of dealers across South India. The client had achieved excellence in the trade and distribution of IT products portfolio virtually comprising of all computer hard wares, peripherals, accessories, multimedia, audio, video-editing products, and software.
 
The Challenge:
 
The client was a leading distributor of a range IT products and his reach spanned all over South India. With a single office, the client was not able to reach quite a few of his clients outside his state, or provide them with appropriate data at the right time, hence he opted for e-Business arrangements. The client had to cater to three different segments including online customers, dealers/resellers and corporate segments to each of whom he had to provide quotations, invoices, delivery etc.
The challenge was to create an online portal for promoting online distribution of products for various types of customers like End users, Dealers/resellers and corporate customers, and integrate online payment processing.

The Solution:
 
According to the business model of Client and type of their target customers, we, SGS Technologie designed a Web application to manage various customers who the distributor had to cater to. The site was designed with provision for end users to create their Dream PC’s with the configuration in which they wanted it and receive a quote for it. Reseller customers were provided with a separate log in with provisions for online business dealings to be performed. Delivery status for all goods, which any customer had ordered for, would be displayed.
 
The SGS team worked in accordance with the client’s requirements and had developed an ORACLE database for storing all details regarding his products. The whole inventory was integrated while development and an admin module was created for the client connected to the database so that he may enter in any new products which he may choose to display through the application, simultaneously he may also change the pricing or images for any of the products included in the application.
 
There were 3 types of interfaces created for all the three types of customers that the client catered to i.e. for End users, resellers and corporate clients. And each of these provided each customer with Products as well their pricing, warranty models, online booking, online invoice, online transactions etc.. The client may also correspond with his resellers through the application. Hence, by employing this application the client was able to provide up-to-date information an all products for all his customers.
 
This arrangement for the application catered to all requirements in line with B2B relationship and B2C relationship and the SGS Team received a good customer satisfaction rating. Online billing and Online Inventory management was also enabled for this application. The creation of this application has enabled our client to reach his dealers or End users even if they were miles apart from him and has helped in promoting his business further.
